For those folks out there that aren’t involved in development, there is a concept known as scope creep. It’s basically the expansion of the requirements for a project without them being properly documented or where fun ideas simply add to the workload before the project is even released. It’s very dangerous to a project because it effectively moves the goal, and can keep doing so indefinitely until the project stalls or fails completely.
I had an idea. It’s even very much related to the possible success of this game commercially. I’m not doing it yet because it’s a shift in scope I don’t want to take on at this time. There will probably be a time in the future, possibly after the game has been out for a while when I will want to revisit this concept.
Sorry for the total lack of details at this time. I’m pretty proud of myself for not getting bogged down by scope creep (this time).
